QANTAS Founders Museum, Queensland

OUR RESPONSE

The original aircraft hangar & home of the beginnings of the Qantas airline required a number of different signage & information elements. We proposed tall light boxes, a barrier system that carried text & image panels and a circular raised platform with a wrap around graphic. Our scope saw the production and installation of the circular raised platform that proudly displays the remains of first light tower used at Longreach, Queensland.

The Arts Centre

OUR RESPONSE

The Rock Chicks exhibition required a considerable amount of 2 & 3 dimensional objects to be dsplayed. Costumes, instruments, posters and images all
had to be protected. Visitor flow paths and the journey people took had to consideration. The introduced built form needed to work with the existing Arts Centre suite of cases and was intended to be reusable for future displays.
The painted circles referred to the spotlights that all stage performers love to be in.

OUR RESPONSE

A tight budget and a dedicated exhibition space with a low ceiling height called for wall mounted banners that carried the powerful story in image and word. A small number of objects and light sensitive correspondence were housed in the museums existing display system. The exhibition included Ned Kelly’s gun and saddlebag which was displayed in a custom made display case.

Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, Victoria

SOLUTION

Our Client required a signage system that would not overpower the young garden and was robust enough to withstand the variation in weather conditions. We proposed a geometric, repeat CORTEN box that became both display and container. Man made meets nature. The graphic treatment used evocative use of type and colour to engage and direct visitors.

Victoria Brewery Museum, Melbourne

SOLUTION

Built on the former site of the Victoria Bitter brewery this new residential & retail vicinity was required to house a museum and interpretation signage that acknowledged the extensive history of the site.   We proposed light boxes on every level to assist with orientation and external signs that allowed visitors a better understanding and appreciation of the site.   The long horizontal panels were inspired by some of the structure that was found on the site before its transition.

OUR RESPONSE

Offered an opportunity to work & study within the NGVs environment the participants were invited to create a cloak (made from paper) that displayed something about themselves/their interests and personal journey. The results ranged from fascinations with Japan to glued together lecture notes fashioned into a wearable garment complete with hand painted and heartfelt quote.
